Super Bowl or Bust

There was a lot of talk by Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams about "The Last Dance" and they did this through their social media profiles.

What is more important, winning or personal statistics? If you watch the documentary about the Bulls' last championship you would think that winning would be the right answer. Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players of his generation. He demanded a lot from his teammates, and that didn't always sit well with his teammates, as evident by what they said in the documentary.

I am not going to argue Jordan didn't care about personal stats, but Jordan had the leadership skills he needed to win a lot of games and to be successful. Aaron Rodgers doesn't seem to have those leadership skills. He seems to like to roll his eyes and the public Rodgers is all we see. The private Rodgers that his teammates see might be more helpful and less condescending.

It is hard to say Davante Adams is Scottie Pippin but without Adams, I feel, Rodgers doesn't have the season he had this year. Adams is a rare talent and probably going to get a big raise. Will that Packers be the team paying him?

It is easy to say the Packers should have drafted a wide receiver to compliment Adams, but they didn't do that and instead, they traded up for a quarterback that offers no value to a team needing a player to help them get over the hump and win playoff games. I don't understand that pick. I also don't understand a lot of the picks that don't seem to fit the needs of the team.

Rodgers and Adams kind of called their shot and the two tried to do it by themselves. Rodgers passed over other receivers that were opened. There were a few drops and some tight coverages, so you can't really fault Rodgers for passing it to Adams because of Adams's unique skills. You do have to wonder why he didn't throw to Cobb more than he did. It was Rodgers that asked for Cobb to be signed by the Packers.

Now, we wait and see what happens to Rodgers and Adams. Maybe they were off by a couple years on their reference to "The Last Dance" and their Super Bowl victory season.
