What Do You Think?

If You Were the Packers GM

What would you do if you were the Packers' GM? I would have picked up a tackle when I knew Spriggs was going to my starter. I know that would have been my first move as GM. The Packers have a lot of choices to make this offseason. They started the season with the hopes of going to the playoffs and Super Bowl. They showed promise. Hundley showed a lot of promise, but that is the thing about preseason in the NFL that gives some teams false hope. Was it wrong to think Hundley could play quarterback in a way that the Packers season could be saved? I think it is fair to think that Hundley showed promise, but the reality of the season is different than the preseason, and the Packers waited too long to do something to help their season. Is it time to promote Eliot Wolf to the general manager?   He probably wouldn't sit on his hands like Ted Thompson, and I have a feeling he would be like his dad. Ted seems to model his strategy around the Patriots' method, but even the Patri...

The Vikings Feel a Little Tickle in Their Throats, Choke Season Is Just around the Corner!

Colin Cowherd seems to think the Vikings can get home field advantage and be a home team all the way through the playoffs, or so he said this morning on the Fox NFL Kickoff. Will he be right? History says he is right about 58% of the time when it came to his picks, but that stat is from 2012 . He is a talking head that sounds like he knows something, but his picks are no different than throwing a coin in the air and calling heads. I say that because there are only two teams playing, so he has a 50/50 chance of being right. The Vikings look good, but they have three games remaining that are against weaker opponents, but it is the Vikings. They have a long history of choking when the games really matter, just ask any true fan of the game. The Packers might not make the playoffs, but the Vikings storyline is exciting for Viking fans, but they still have the same coach that choked last season. It is nice that Vikings' fans have something to cling to this year, but History ...

Devante Adams Is a Key to Success

Is Devante Adams the best player on the Packers roster? Right now, Devante Adams is playing like a Superstar. His touchdown catch in overtime last week was something special. He took a pass from Hundley and converted it into a game winner. He didn't stick around to take a bow and continued down the tunnel. Will he continue his hot streak this weekend? Aaron Rodgers likes Jordy Nelson, but it is hard to ignore how important Devante Adams has been since Rodgers went down. Adams is the leading receiver right now. He is making the catches he needs to make and does it with defenders hanging on him. It will be interesting to see if Rodgers can make Adams into a bigger star.

Winning Out?

Green Bay, WI-- Aaron Rodgers practiced today. McCarthy told reporters that Rodgers looked "good" today. If the defense can play a complete game, the Rodgers return should be worth it, and the Packers might be able to shock some of the teams that will be in the Playoffs. The Eagles will be going in with a backup Quarterback. The Vikings might be going in with a different quarterback if they continue to lose or have offensive struggles. What about the Saints. The Saints already played the Packers and beat them. Yes, they beat them because Hundley was the quarterback, so a rematch might end differently. The Packers beat the Seahawks, and they seem to have their number, but there is that ugly playoff game where the Packers blew a lead and lost in overtime. With the playoffs, you just never know who will get hot. Being a low seed will make it a hard for the Packers but they did win a Super Bowl after being a sixth seed in 2010. But first, the Packers need to win out.  ...

Ground Control to Packers Fans...Rodgers Is Back

Aaron Rodgers got cleared to play football. The hearts of Packers' fans are probably beating a little faster after the news took root in the Limbic system and created a feeling of euphoria. It probably could have taken the wind out of the Packers' playoff hopes if Rodgers couldn't play this weekend. Packers' fans saw Rodgers throwing deep passes before the game the other week, and maybe felt a great ping of hope that all is right in the world and everything is going to be okay. Ticket sales and ticket prices will certainly go up with the news that Rodgers will play again. The Packers did take a hit when Rodgers got hurt, and some fans stopped going because there was no hope in their hearts. They might have expected Rodgers to be out for the rest of the season. I won't say that I was one of those fans. I didn't have enough information on Hundley to feel that the Packers could make it to the playoffs.  Hundley did his job and kept the Packers' playoff hope...

Packers Waiting on Rodgers

The Packers are waiting on the scans of Aaron Rodgers as their playoff hopes still cling to a glimmer of light. Without Aaron Rodgers that Packers’ record is Coach Mike McCarthy said the doctors are reading the scans and will make the call. On Monday, he  said, “I don’t have a clean decision for you.” Packer Nation has survived two weeks of games that went into overtime. Hundley is not Aaron Rodgers, as McCarthy said, and is playing some of his best football right now if you look at his statistics. That fact should give fans and the team hopes for the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have a better defense than the Browns, and will pose a challenge to the Packers as they try to keep winning. Can the Packers win with Hundley? Maybe. Can they win with Aaron Rodgers, Yes? Will the Packers win this weekend? The argument could be made that Hundley is winning and keeping the Packers’ playoff hopes alive and it is better to rest Aaron Rodgers’ shoul...
