The Vikings Feel a Little Tickle in Their Throats, Choke Season Is Just around the Corner!

Colin Cowherd seems to think the Vikings can get home field advantage and be a home team all the way through the playoffs, or so he said this morning on the Fox NFL Kickoff.

Will he be right?

History says he is right about 58% of the time when it came to his picks, but that stat is from 2012. He is a talking head that sounds like he knows something, but his picks are no different than throwing a coin in the air and calling heads. I say that because there are only two teams playing, so he has a 50/50 chance of being right.

The Vikings look good, but they have three games remaining that are against weaker opponents, but it is the Vikings. They have a long history of choking when the games really matter, just ask any true fan of the game.

The Packers might not make the playoffs, but the Vikings storyline is exciting for Viking fans, but they still have the same coach that choked last season. It is nice that Vikings' fans have something to cling to this year, but History is knocking on the door and it is bringing its friend Reality to the party. Keep dreaming Vikings' fans because this is the year that you get your hopes crushed by a coach that can't win the big games.

Way to Go!

The Packers find new ways to lose, but there is something consistent in the way they lose and that is bad calls by the head coach. It is easy for us to second-guess a decision made by McCarthy, but it seems like he makes some bonehead choices that even someone the worst coaches in the NFL don't make.  McCarthy could have used a challenge on the incomplete pass to Lockett, and maybe we aren't talking about the stupidity of trusting your defense to get the ball the back.  What the coach sees his defense get slashed and decides it is a good idea to put his faith in them to win the game? It is a little late in the season for a morale booster for the defense. What they need is a kick in the ass. Mathews is old and slow. The run defense hasn't played a complete game all year. The Richest Man in the NFL

The Packers finally signed Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension. That I'd good news for Packer Nation, if they can protect him from another season ending injury. The defense still looks weak. The offensive line looks weak at times. But it is hard to get a true picture of either side because most of the starters didn't play that much this preseason, so you really know what you are getting when the regular season starts. Let us hope that Aaron Rodgers stays healthy.
